Observed annually during the first full week in April, National Window Safety Week is designed to heighten the awareness of what can be done to help keep families safe from accidental falls or injuries in the home. Gary Bock and Jim Mains in their latestVancouver Side tackle this topic in a very real way. The duo interviewed Jason andBecca Keen Cunningham, a local family who experienced the traumatic fall of their four year old son Thomas. In the video, the Cunninghams describe their family’s experience and share the importance of window guards or rails.
“People put things in their outlets and cabinets to protect their children,” says Jason. “this is just one more simple step, it’s just $9.” With summer just around the corner it’s important to remember the dangers within the home.
